Simpson Language Services processes information about:

Type/classes of information processed

Simpson Language Services will only request and store information that it needs to perform its contracts and operate as a business on a day-to-day basis.

For the reasons/purposes listed in the ‘Reasons/purposes for processing information’ section, Simpson Language Services processes:

Simpson Language Services will never lease or sell personal information.

Where the sharing of personal information is necessary, Simpson Language Services is required to comply with all aspects of the Data Protection Act (DPA).

Simpson Language Services sometimes needs to share some of the personal information that is processed with the individual themselves. For one or more reasons, including (but not limited to) a legal obligation to do so, Simpson Language Services may sometimes need to share some personal information with other organisations.

  • associates and representatives of the person whose personal information is being processed

  • current, past, and prospective employers

  • law enforcement

  • debt collection and tracing agencies

  • credit reference agencies

It may also sometimes be necessary to transfer personal information overseas (for example, for data storage or backups). When this is needed, information may be transferred to countries or territories around the world. Any transfers made will be in full compliance with all aspects of the Data Protection Act.

Methods and duration of data storage

All digital information is stored on exclusively GDPR-compliant hosting services and is backed up on an external hard drive, with the hard drive and any hard copies of documentation being locked away in an in-house filing cabinet. All these data storage solutions can only be accessed by The Data Controller.
Simpson Language Services will delete and shred all personal information seven years from the date of the last client correspondence, and, in the case of invoices, ten years from the date of the last invoice. Simpson Language Services will contact the subject of the personal information close to the impending date of erasure to ask if they would like the information to be retained. Erasure of personal information can be requested at any time.
